Devon and I saw
Persepolis Sunday. It was fantastic! I knew it would be good since I'd read the graphic novels, but I wasn't prepared for the really cool stylistic choices they made with the backgrounds and camera movements.
This is a movie I would have gone to Nashville or Atalanta to see in the theatre, but it's here in Huntsville! Yay!
The kid at the ticket booth said almost derisively, "Do you know it's in French?" "Um, yes." Then he kind of grunted as he gave us out tickets.
It had subtitles, but it was still a mostly visual story. The voice acting was great even though I didn't understand a lot of the words, the tones were perfect.
Good stuff.
There was an older couple across the aisle who were getting on out nerves because they kept talking during the movie. When it was over the man said, "That is exactly the way it happened. Exactly." The woman with him said, "They know."
Then Devon felt bad about being irritated, since by then it was pretty obvious they were Iranian. I didn't because I still don't like when people consistently talk during a movie.
